databases & spreadsheet

Database:
1. How do you use Database?
A:I use databases to keep records, sort data and manage IEPs. It is helpful for me to search
data quickly. I can modify data easily and retrieve data quickly. If I want to find out the data
of my students or phone list, I key in point word. In a short time, I can see what I want and
do what I want to do.

2. How do your students use Database?
A: They do not use databases.

3.What else would you like to do with DB - think in terms of student tools/assessment as well as
teacher productivity.
A:If I were a student, I would use databases to manage data well. Maybe I would control
redundant data, update data and add data. I might help me to design something or create
anything. I would make my dream come true.

Spreadsheets:
1. How do you use Spreadsheets?
A:I have to use spreadsheets once a week for student schedules . The sheet will show
teaching time and what I taught. In my personal use, I store addresses, and phone
numbers. Few years ago, I made a budget list to keep my money. Many people use
spreadsheets to calculate students’ grades but I need not to do so.

2. How do your students use Spreadsheets?
A: Few of my students can use computers. But I remember that I taught a student to use
spreadsheets few years ago . He didn’t have a computer. I took a laptop to his home and
taught him excel. I taught him to make a phone numbers list and calculate data. Now he is
not my student.

3. What else would you like to do with SS - think in terms of student tools/assessment as well as
teacher productivity.
A:If I have time, I will try to creat lesson plans and construct game boards.

  1. You are a special education teacher. You must have lot of troubles to teach them, but I think you are patient teacher. In your article, you said that you taught a student who do not have computer, so you brought your computer to his home to teach him. In your work, you have to communicate with student’s parents often; therefore you use Datatbase, find their phone or address fast.

  3. Hi, Roger,

You are very nice. Whenever people think I'm kind of weird and keep their distance from me, you always give me a cheerful greeting. I believe you must be an understanding, patient, and considerate teacher. And because you have so many good qualities, I think that's why you are destined to be a special education teacher. I believe being your students is a blessing from God.
