Greenfield Village Tour ----Roger & Rita

Greenfield Village---

Last Friday,Sid and Raye took us to Greenfield Village. I deeply appreciated their help. I had thought that we would go to Henry Ford Museum. I preferred watching cars, but that's ok. At Greenfield Village, we seemed to be back in the 19th century. The time was about the period of the Civil War. We could see many old buildings, automobiles and trains. We could also see how they led their life at that time. We took an old train around Greenfield Village and it impressed me very much. At noon, we went to the Eagle Tavern for lunch. It served meals using the 1850s recipes. The waitresses were all in old outfits. We chose our lunches from 1850s menus. That was a magic moment. After lunch, I walked around the village. I watched a baseball game of the 1850s and saw an old boat in the river. I thought of Tom Sawyer. That's right. Tom's friend was looking for him. He shouted,"Tom,Tom." I thought he might be Huck. I took some pictures with the people who wore old clothing. Then I went to the Greenfield Village Store to browse. The store is filled with gifts that reflect American culture. Oh,my goodness. It's almost three o'clock. We have to leave Greenfield Village. Farewell! I might be back again one day.
