1. What do you see in the future in regards to technology and educational technology?
I think digital life is a coming trend in the future. We can turn on the a video or turn off the light through our thinking. The chip attached on our heads can collect and send message from our brains and then we can do what we want. It’s wireless. We always do anything through our thinking, not hands.
2. If you were granted $20,000 to use in your school for educational technology, how would you use it?
If I had the money, I would buy assistive technology. I would buy Braille printers, Wii, White board, blind laptops and so on. I would teach them play games with Wii in order to make them exercise. I would teach them how to lead a life. I would also teach them social skills and all subjects with White board. The Braille printers and blind laptops are useful for sight-impaired students. I would teach them how to type words, how to browse information, how to communicate with others and how to use a laptop and so on. The Braille printers will help them to learn more knowledge.
3. How would you use a portfolio (think about grants, raises, changes in position, like the building techie, etc.
I use a portfolio to prepare for the assessments for instructor, classification for instructor and changes in position. I also use it to collect certifications, my teaching records, teaching resources, teaching data, teaching methods, my photos, student’s records(what they need, what they did, future plans, student’s creations, photos…),….
4. What would you or have you included in a portfolio -- think back to the one you needed to create for Undergrad and/or to get your current job (this can be paper or electronic or a combo)
It includes a resume, a diploma, seminar records, association participations, teaching data(teaching methods, teaching resources, videos of teaching, photos, special experience, autobiography, certifications, interview records, E-data…), student’s records(what they need, what they did, future plans, student’s creations, photos…).

ReplyDeleteI think "Braille printers" is very useful for sight-impaired students, but i never seen it,i'm curious how to operate it.I also think "Wii" is very popular with students. It can as a reward while they study hard.
ReplyDeleteDear Roger,
ReplyDeleteAs a special education teacher, what you want to buy is quite different from mine. I think blind laptops is special, though this observation, I know you take of any need of your special students.
